The Baker: I grew up in south-eastern PA and moved to Maine several years ago. I live with The Pilot in a small town near a decent-sized city. I have a great love of “homemaking” – baking, cooking, cleaning/organizing, etc.  I have always loved animals and I have always wanted a farm (though I have NO idea why since I’ve never lived on or near one) where I could have a great smattering of livestock and now I can finally start with some chickens. I’m not a blogger by any means but I do like keeping a journal of things that happen. The way I figure it, if I can record the process of planning for chickens, getting them, and what happens after and help somebody else in their own process, I have had some chicken-related success. So make a cup of tea (or coffee or wine or whatever you enjoy most), sit down, read our blog, and make some comments. It’s an adventure we can take together.

The Crafter: I was born and raised in a decent-sized (for Maine, anyway) city in Maine and, like The Baker, always wanted to live on a farm (maybe it’s “in my blood”, since my mother, The CLS, was raised on a dairy farm). The closest to farm life I ever got was spending summers volunteering with my family at a historical settlement in New Brunswick, Canada, and I loved every minute of it. I am what you could call the “indoorsy” type, so my interests include knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, scrapbooking, reading, computers, TV and movies, and travel. I’m a registered nurse, retired from the military, and a single mom. I love to drink tea and spend time with friends. I am so excited to be embarking on the chicken journey with The Baker.
